#IndoRussianFashionExchange: Russian brand to showcase at a fashion week in Mumbai – Times of India

In the last few months, Indian designers’ work has often been discussed, appreciated by the fashion fraternity in Russia after they saw their creations on two occasions – at BRICS + Fashion Summit and at the Moscow Fashion Week, recently. From March 1 to 8, Indian fashion took center stage at the Moscow Fashion Week (MFW). Designers Paras and Shalini and Nitin Bal Chauhan were warmly welcomed at MFW.The participation of Indian designers marked a significant milestone for the Russian fashion industry, following an agreement between FDCI (Fashion Design Council of India) and Moscow Fashion Week, a result of the BRICS+ Fashion Summit in December 2023. Now, the Russian brand Measure, will do its debut show at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI in Mumbai. Originating from Dagestan, Russia, Measure’s essence lies in reinterpreting the traditional attire, aiming to blend the natural with the man-made.

Over the last few months there also has been an interesting exchange of ideas between designers from Russia and India and Indian designers are hoping to work in collaboration in the future. “We hope to meet the luxury boutiques in Russia and possibly engage in a dialogue to explore a mutually beneficial partnership,” says designer Paras Bairoliya.
