Pepper Noir for Gavin Cromwell could go well and she sets the standard but she’s vulnerable to the newcomers. Timana is an interesting runner but I’m with Joseph O’Brien’s Prairie Angel. She’s interesting based on breeding alone. If the market speaks in her favour, she’s worth getting behind. She’s got a good draw in stall four and her lack of experience will hopefully not affect her. She’s bred to stay further than this mile distance.

Hodds Girl won last time out at Dundalk in January and she’ll be in the mix, as will Freescape for David Marnane. I like Final Voyage. John Murtagh’s runner finished fifth at Dundalk last month and he’s stepping up from 7f to a mile, which should suit him. He’s primed to strike and he’s got a good draw in stall three.

I’m against Lauroline, who finished second at Dundalk earlier this month and prefer Irish Rumour, who has finished second on her last three appearances. Colin Keane is on board and I’m hoping that will see her finish first rather than second! She’s in stall 16, which isn’t ideal, but she’s got a consistent profile and she’s going up in trip to 7f after running over 6f on her last two runs.

Pascalia is interesting and I’d watch out for the market moves with her. I’ve gone through them all but I kept coming back to Bucky Larson, who ran well last time out at Dundalk earlier this month. It’s a poor race and if he’s going to strike, it’s Friday night!

I’m happy to watch Laugh A Minute, Harrys Bar and Dream Today from the Aido McGuinness yard. The latter is the pace angle but I like Eddie Lynam’s Rough Diamond. He won a couple of years ago over course and distance. He’s only had five runs since then and his last three runs after a layoff have been building his profile. He was an eye catcher last time out at the end of January. James Ryan is booked too which is a bonus.

John McConnell’s Noble Crusade won last time out at Dundalk earlier this month and Keithen Kennedy is on board and taking off 7lbs. He’s gone up 10lbs for his last win but Kennedy’s claim should pretty much offset that. This is in the same grade and over the 1m4f distance so I fancy him to win again.

People will be well aware that I love Celtic Revival but I’m not tipping him up this time! Instead, I’m with Fascinating Shadow for John Hanlon. I backed him when he won at 33/1 in 2022 and he’s worked himself back into decent form. He travelled well last time out and he’s dropping in grade, which should bring out improvement.

I don’t see a lot of these runners staying the trip so I’m with Western City for Joseph O’Brien. He’s the standout and he won his maiden at Dundalk in January. Although that form hasn’t been fully franked, it was still a decent win. He’s got a great pedigree and he’s running off a mark of 80, which is low. He’s the best horse in the race.
