A middle to low draw over this 5f trip at Dundalk is an advantage. There are frontrunners in here and that will suit Samrogue perfectly. She is in decent form and she won last time out at Dudalk in December. Oisin McSweeney is on board and taking off 5lbs which is always a bonus. I’ll take my chances on her and hope that Billboa does too much and bombs out.

Ransom and Pierre Lapin are the two to focus on in terms of form and ratings. The latter could enjoy the step down in grade but he hasn’t won since 2022. He’s going to have to run to the best of his ability to fend off Ransom. He finished third at Dundalk last week and he can improve on that. There will be pace in this and that will suit him perfectly. He should be very hard to beat.

Hoover Dam has shown decent form and his run at Dundalk in January was decent. Enniscoffee could also be competitive but I like Joseph O’Brien’s Al Mudhaffar. I don’t usually tip first-time-out runners but the stable form can’t be ignored. He should be hard to beat and he’s bred to be better than the rest of these.

Skontonovski is often better over a mile and I’m with Leanne Breen’s James Henry. He’s won his last two after finishing second three times in a row prior to that. There’s plenty of pace in here and that’ll suit him. I’ll keep him on side with Scott McCullagh taking off 3lbs as an added bonus.

Staysound Susie ran well at the back end of last season but I’m happy to take her on. Miss Black Jack will likely be respected in the market but I’m on Ohailbhic. He was an eyecatcher on his debut and he ran well at Dundalk in January. He just got outpaced at the vital stage and he should show improvement. He could be the value pick.

The Poacher Daly has solid form and his second last time out was decent. Smart Impression will also be backed in the market but I’m on Coulstar, who can show improvement from her fifth last time out. John Murtagh hasn’t had too many runners at Dundalk but she could be the value selection against The Poacher Daly and Smart Impression.

How About No didn’t get the running of the race at Navan in October and the main threat is Sea Wave, who is well bred and is stepping up in trip which should suit. She’ll have race fitness after her fourth at Dundalk last month but I’ll stick with Joseph O’Brien’s How About No. The yard are on fire and he can open his account on Friday night.

Dark Street was unlucky last time out at Dundalk earlier this month and he couldn’t build on his win in January. He’s the one to beat and Luke Comer can rack up another winner.
