Delhi School Bomb Threat: Bomb threat mails to Delhi-NCR schools originated from Russia | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Bomb threats sent via email to schools in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning originated from Russia, as indicated by the IP address of the email, which was traced back to the domain “mail.ru”.

Over 60 schools in national capital and Noida received bomb threats mail creating panic among parents and students.
While some principals claim that it’s spam mail sent by dissatisfied members of a parents’ group potentially disappointed by unresolved issues in the school’s functioning, they argue that such hoax bomb threats have become rampant in the last couple of months, disrupting school hours and creating extreme panic among parents and students.

Lt Governor VK Saxena said that Delhi Police has traced the origin of the bomb threat emails that were sent to multiple schools in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday, and assured that the culprits will be given strict punishment. Officials said the bomb threat appeared to be hoax and said there was no reason to panic.
Saxena visited DAV school in Model Town area that also received the bomb threat.
