Race 1. (12:25) VOBIS Gold Comet 1000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

1 Midwest (Bet Now: $2.20) is bursting to win one for Team Freedman and I think he gets his chance here. He ran over 1100m at Rosehill a few weeks ago and I thought his run was outstanding. He copped serious heat on speed and was entitled to knock right up but kept finding and was only run down late by Andermatt. He’ll land near the speed, he’s tough and that run, hopefully, toughens him up.

Danger

2 Bluestone Lane (Bet Now: $4.00) is just about racing in career best form. Cliff Brown trained gelding that that is looking to make it three wins on the bounce, winning two back at Moe before going this track/distance where he was helped by the bias but he still had to take advantage of it and was impressive in winning. This race isn’t much harder and only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

Long Shot

5 Zorro’s Dream (Bet Now: $9.50) lacks the class of some of these but will be charging late with luck in transit from the inside gate. He ran over 1100m at Morphettville three weeks back where he was run off his legs and couldn’t quite match it with them late when fourth to speed demon Philonize, who ran well in the Matrice on Monday, so the form has been ticked off and will be strong late.

Race 2. (13:05) Sharp Extensive It (Bm70) 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

12 Fearless Writer (Bet Now: $5.50) should prove hard to beat here for GaiBott. This mare was 1550m to this trip when winning here last time out. She was near the speed throughout and put the pressure on a fair way out, so she was there to be run down, but found plenty under pressure and was strong to the line in winning. Has that 2040m run under the belt now so that should hold her in good stead.

Danger

2 Bluestone Lane (Bet Now: $6.50) is just about racing in career best form. Cliff Brown trained gelding that that is looking to make it three wins on the bounce, winning two back at Moe before going this track/distance where he was helped by the bias but he still had to take advantage of it and was impressive in winning. This race isn’t much harder and only has to hold his form to be around the mark.

Long Shot

3 Uniquely (Bet Now: $35.00) is on the seven day back up for Dan O’Sullivan after racing over 2000m last Saturday at Flemington where she got back in the run and couldn’t make up ground in a race dominated by those on speed, won by Sparkle. She likes racing at The Valley and back against Mares, she shouldn’t be entirely dismissed.

Race 3. (13:40) The Mystic Journey 2040m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

5 Summerbeel (Bet Now: $1.90) should prove hard to beat here for GaiBott. This mare was 1550m to this trip when winning here last time out. She was near the speed throughout and put the pressure on a fair way out, so she was there to be run down, but found plenty under pressure and was strong to the line in winning. Has that 2040m run under the belt now so that should hold her in good stead.

Danger

2 Divine Diosa (Bet Now: $9.00) is working up to a win. Both runs back from a spell have come at Pakenham, the latest over the mile when sitting back in the run and launching late, just missing out on the win when a close up second to Russian Dancer. Third up from a spell, hard fit, up to 2040m and with a more positive ride, she’s going well enough to take this out.

Race 4. (14:20) Vobis Gold Reef 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

5 Toronto Terrier (Bet Now: $2.70) is a promising animal that should take beating here despite coming straight out of maiden grade. But, that maiden win was dominant, which came over 1200m at Pakenham where he let down with a powerful turn of foot, defying a betting drift and giving them a spanking, running fast time as well. Think the rise in trip is fine, sharp return and has good upside compared to most.

Danger

2 Russian Dancer (Bet Now: $4.20) has done little wrong in a six start career but it has mainly been at Pakenham. Can he bring that to The Valley. He is looking to make it three on the bounce, winning his past two over the mile at Pakenham where each time he has dug in nicely when required to get the wins on the board. He has the good 1600m grounding and will be strong at the end.

Long Shot

3 American Liaison (Bet Now: $8.50) has been good in three runs back from a spell and commands respect. Put together a couple of solid placings to start the prep before going to 1450m at Kilmore where he led throughout and was there to be run down but he gave nothing else a look in, leading throughout and was dominant in the run to the line. Bred to eat up the mile and has a good racing style.

Race 5. (14:55) The Mugatoo 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

2 Bois D’Argent (Bet Now: $5.50) is a quality gelding resuming for Annabel Neasham and I think commands respect. He has only had one Australian run, which came in the Spring in the Rosehill Cup on Golden Eagle Day when a close up third to a nice horse, Star Of India. Two trials to get ready have been more than encouraging and his best form is clearly good enough to take this out fresh.

Danger

Why can’t 5 Munhamek (Bet Now: $1.75) win again? He’s been up forever but he is absolutely flying. Should have run second to Munhamek in The Elms at Flemington two back before racing two weeks ago at Flemington where he got a positive ride from Zahra, tracking up Kettle Hill, came off its back and made an absolute mess of them. Truly run 1600m is ideal and if he’s within range, he can certainly take this out.

Long Shot

6 Quality Time (Bet Now: $5.00) is a Chris Waller trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since Melbourne Cup Day at Randwick when far from disgraced in The Big Dance behind Rustic Steel, where it was pretty much an end of prep run. He can sprint well fresh and his recent Flemington jumpout was a pretty good piece of work. He is a knockout hope.

Race 6. (15:40) Abell Stakes 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

5 Lady Of Honour (Bet Now: $4.20) on top for me. Team Hayes trained mare that resumes, having not raced since the Golden Eagle where she was outclassed when beating one runner home behind I Wish I Win. Given a good break in readiness for her return and I thought she moved very well in a recent Flemington jumpout. Think she’s ready to go and maps ideally from the gate. I’m in her corner.

Danger

11 Doull (Bet Now: $7.50) is a talented colt for Team Freedman that is one of the main contenders. He looked a moral when resuming at the midweeks at Sale and despite a few nervous moments in the straight, his class came to the fore and he was miles too good. Extra 200m is the slight query, but he has early toe and will give himself every chance.

Long Shot

2 In The Boat (Bet Now: $4.50) is a fascinating runner. Lindsey Smith trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since the Spring when down the track in the Schillaci at Caulfield behind Paulele, who of course went on to win the Winterbottom at Group l level. 2/2 at the track/distance and did win this race last year. His best is clearly good enough so watch the market.

Race 7. (16:20) All-Star Mile 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

2 Alligator Blood (Bet Now: $3.50 SPECIAL ODDS), all things being equal, could be an absolute moral. He resumed in the Futurity where he was backed with confidence late in the piece and after sitting on speed, he absolutely trucked in the run and it was just a matter of Shinn pushing the button. Once he did, away he went and he spanked them. Natural improvement off that, could be a case of good luck beating him.

Danger

1 I’m Thunderstruck… (Bet Now: $6.50) contender or pretender time. I am thinking he could be the latter but the two big ticks for him are his liking for the track and the fact he’ll be sitting off the very good tempo. I will say though, I do reckon he wants cut in the ground, so if they leave the taps on overnight and the track is shifty, that will help his cause in turning the table on Alligator Blood.

Long Shot

10 My Oberon (Bet Now: $34.00) can bounce back. He was a big drifter in betting fresh in the Futurity Stakes and the market got it spot on as he settled last in the run and failed to come, running last behind Alligator Blood. His win here on Cox Plate Day was dynamic and off that, he’s in with a shout, especially sitting off a good speed.

Race 8. (17:00) Typhoon Tracy Stakes 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

12 Parisal (Bet Now: $4.50) has come back in outstanding order for James Cummings. 2/2 this time in, bolting up to win the maiden fresh on the Kenso before going to Rosehill a few weeks ago where she sat on a hot speed, did work, but trucked under Lloyd and she moved clear late for a strong win in very fast time. Hard to knock the way she’s going and stable is absolutely flying.

Danger

1 Paris Dior (Bet Now: $4.80) should prove hard to beat here for Team Snowden. This filly resumed down the straight in the Inglis Sprint and kept finding the line in a good return when second to dynamic winner Bennedetta, who I reckon is a Group l class type, so that form reads very well I reckon for a race like this and with good upside, she’s hard to beat for me.

Long Shot

5 Cythera (Bet Now: $23.00) has been strong in two runs back from a spell. Did more than enough fresh in the Kevin Hayes behind Rich Fortune before going to the Inglis Sprint where she got a fair way back in the run and was good late in the piece, albeit never a threat, to Bennedetta. Third up from a spell, she should be at peak fitness, and dangerous if she can settle closer in the run.

Race 9. (17:40) Alister Clark Stakes 2040m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

1 Dunkel (Bet Now: $5.50) is a star and IMO could be a Cups horse for later in the year. He is just so talented and has been winning despite doing plenty wrong. That was the case in a two run prep in Tassie, winning the Guineas and then the Tassie Derby. Stunning debut winner at this track in the Spring and has residual fitness. IMO, clearly the best horse in the race and happy to be in his corner.

Danger

3 Amenable (Bet Now: $3.10) has always looked a 2000m+ horse so keen to see him at the trip here. He comes through the Australian Guineas where I thought he was far from disgraced in defeat when beaten just over a length by star filly Legarto. Has a gate to use to get a lovely run in transit and overall, this isn’t a strong race, so keen to see how he goes at the trip.

Long Shot

6 Watadeel (Bet Now: $11.00) seems somewhat of a one paced type so 2040m should be fine. Latest run came over the mile here in a moderate race. He was one of the first off the bit but stuck on and was solid enough in defeat when second to Euro Dandy. Racing like a rise in trip will be okay and despite a tricky gate, he could pinch a first four spot at a likely decent price.

Race 10. (18:10) Ladbrokes Country Mile (Bm80) 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

Pretty keen here on 3 British Columbia (Bet Now: $5.00). Grahame Begg has his stable absolutely flying at the moment, and this guy is in ripping form. Dominant all the way winner two back at Sandown before going to Ballarat where he lumped 61.5kg. He was on speed throughout and tried hard but was simply no match for Khoekhoe. Gets good weight relief this time around and I reckon it is enough to see him bounce back.

Danger

8 Daily Bugle (Bet Now: $10.00) has been somewhat of an enigma throughout his career but he seems to be getting more genuine. He was very good late in the piece two back at Flemington behind So You See before going to Wangaratta where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a threat to Suparazi, I liked the way he found the line late in the piece. If he’s within range 400m out, he’s going well enough to win.

Long Shot

5 Yulong Patrol (Bet Now: $31.00) is a consistent animal for Andrew Bobbin that should be around the mark. Far from disgraced against the race shape two back at Morphettville Parks behind Dominus before going to Colac when off the speed and kept finding the line when second to Toogoodfortoorak. If he is able to settle closer in the run, he could be dangerous.

BEST BET: Race Five Number 2 Bois D’Argent

NEXT BEST: Race Nine Number 1 Dunkel

LONG SHOT: Race Four Number 5 Toronto Terrier
